Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University is the only open university in the North East of India. Established in 2005 and later started to offer distance education courses in 2007 after Distance Education Bureau approval. Since then, the university has been offering various undergraduate and postgraduate distance programs for learners in India.

BLIS Distance Education Course Duration & Eligibility

The duration of this program spans over 1 year with only two semesters. It is a bachelor ‘s-level program, but with a shorter duration of the curriculum.

To apply for admission to the BLIS distance education program, learners need to meet the eligibility criteria, which require them to have a Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks or a Bachelor’s degree with a one-year diploma in Library and Information Science from KKHSOU or any UGC recognized institute, or a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of working experience in the Library.
